Give Your Cat Heartgard to Keep Your Pet Happy and Healthy
Pets have such a hard time telling us exactly what ails them. Even skilled veterinarians would have a much easier time if only pets could tell them exactly what hurt and how much. Since it is so challenging to diagnose pet diseases and so costly to treat them, it only makes good sense to give your cat Heartgard to keep it from getting sick from both heartworm and hookworm.
Let's face it. Getting worms in your body, or even in your pet's body, is pretty disgusting. Getting rid of worms is not easy and not pretty. How nice that administering one little pellet to your cat, a pellet that they don't even mind lapping up, can prevent two miserable diseases at once.
Heartgard was developed primarily to treat heartworm in pets, a horribly debilitating disease that is transmitted by that ubiquitous pest, the mosquito. In order to get this successful drug, you will need to take your pet to the vet's for an initial exam and prescription to ascertain that the pet is currently worm free. You do NOT want to give this medicine to an animal that may already have the condition; it's lethal then. And once you start your pet on this medicine, you will want to keep it up; regularity is critical.
If you love your cat, the next time you're getting shots done by the vet, make sure to ask about a prescription for Heartgard. Better yet, if your vet doesn't volunteer information about cat Heartgard, find a new veterinarian.
