Cat flea medications - rid your cats of these pesky bugs
One of the joys of summer for the cat owner is fleas. There are many cat flea
medications available today that were not available just a few years ago. Fleas
really thrive in the summer heat - they do best in 65-80 degree weather with 75%
humidity. So in some parts of the country this could almost be a year round
problem.
Check your cat weekly for fleas
Every cat owner should check their cat for fleas weekly. Sometimes you will see
you cat scratching more than usual or nipping at their skin and fur. These
activities could be signs of a flea infestation. If you cat has fleas, your home
probably has fleas living in the carpet or the cats favorite spot on the sofa. When you treat your cat with flea medication, you really need to treat your home
as well. If you just treat the cat, and not the home, your cat will quickly be
infested with fleas again.
There are some great flea medications and medicines available today to make life
easier for cat owners. Some of these drugs include: Advantage, Frontline Plus,
Revolution and K9Advantix. While they all do the same thing for your cat, they
all perform differently. Your really need to research the difference between
topically applied cat flea treatments and systemic (internal) flea treatments.
