As your dog ages, there are many issues that you might notice including Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome.  Now there is a drug called Anipryl that is available both from your vet and online, that can help you recapture the good times you and your aging dog. 

Anipryl is available in tablet form for easy dosing.  Most prescriptions are written for one tablet a day, usually in the morning.  If you don't follow the dosing schedule carefully you may see a return of the behavior the medicine in controlling.

Studies have shown that about 70% of dogs will show improvement while taking Anipryl.  What is being controlled is a syndrome, so no two dogs will show the exact same improvements, since the syndrome is actually a collections of signs.

The most common side effects of Anipryl are vomiting, diarrhea or changes in behavior, such as hyperactivity and restlessness.  Most dog owners report that the side affects are mild and the benefits outweigh.  If you notice something you are concerned about be sure and contact your veterinarian right away so they can review how the Anipryl is effecting your dog.
